My shoulder continues to be problematic. I think even swings are continuing to aggrevate the shoulder. I have decided to stop all kettlebell work for the next 2 weeks to see if things get any better. If there is no improvement I will have to get some formal medical help to see what is causing my pain. I am quite discouraged about the situation. I will likely not write for the next couple of weeks as there will be very little to report.

Hey Matt, sorry to hear this. Get yourself to an orthopedist now, don't bother waiting. You might simply have an impingement that after a bit of physical therapy can be healed and strengthened. Trust me, I've been there, waited and always regretted not getting it check out sooner. No sense messing with your body and long term physical state.
Matt,sad to hear your shoulder.
Perhaps total rest help. I still believe that there is some lesion(somatic dysfunction) which cost your problem! My friend have shoulder problem and I chek that.
I think that need 3-5 treatment(osteopathic) to resolv. He try 5 week rest of jerk.In first set 3 rep the pain comes back. I think 99% of pain can treat away.(not including big trauma)I dont know ,what is policy there but in Finland,M.D usually want operate those things.
And results are usually not so good. Treating peoples for 21 year,I have seen many bad results!
But I belive that you find right way to heel your shoulder !
Keep healing girevik !!
Sorry to head that things have not been getting better. I wish you luck in your recovery.
Matt,
I am sorry that you are still injured... I know it sucks... I will be thinking about this weekend... Heal up Man..
matt
so sorry to this but i understand. so many of my shoulder issues originate in the too high tension levels of the pec and pec minor, biceps and brachialis, teres major and muscles of the forearm flexors.
you might want to have a good rolfer or ART specialist look at those muscles before a doc.as Jake says they usually just want to cut and rarely does that help
check out the book anatomy trains for why all these muscles can cause impingement and shoulder pain.
also, releasing the lower rhomboid muscles can give great relief.I wrote a blog post about a move I call the stick slide after reading about this lower rhomboid problem from pt's mike hartman
here's the blog post

Matt,
Missed you in Chicago.. I have a T shirt for you... I need your adress.. I somehow lost ur e mail... I have been thinking about you and your shoulder... I know you didnt ask and your are much smarter than I am... But heres is something you might want to think about... I have screwed myself up more than once doing this stuff.. Remember this... these lifts, jerks, snatches are good for your body... I think lifting the 12kg to get some reps in and the blood flowing again will be huge in getting you going again... Forget about what your goals are in the sport for now... Use the bells to heal you with light perfect reps... I know this has worked for me the last time I jack up my shoulder, neck area... Just start slow and do like a minute per side... see how it feels.. Forget anything heavy for now.. just move and have fun doing it... Heal up Quick...
Duffy,
I sent you an email. If you didn't receive it shoot me an email at schinabeck@yahoo.com.
